is a MapInfo tool for extracting the X & Y coordinates and an optional Z value from the node locations of any point, line, polyline, or region object in an open Mapinfo table. It is most useful for extracting point DTM data from the nodes of contour polylines.
What it does
  • Results of PolyNodeExtractor are output to a text file selected by the user, using any of a number of common file data delimiters. The coordinates can be in the table's native projection or in a user selected projection. For line, polyline and polygon objects, the user can thin the selected nodes by setting a minimum buffer distance.
    The tool will NOT work with Query tables, Seamless tables, Raster Images, Read-Only tables, and tables opened via ODBC.
  • Download and unzip both the .mbx and .str files (and any other provided files) into any directory. Within MapInfo use Tool Manager (under the Tools menu) to point to the mbx file as a new Tool.
    The file PolyNodeExtractor.str is a text resource file to provide International language functionality. The text lines in this file can be translated into any language but make sure to retain, without change, the numbers at the end of each line of text. Currently only the English version is supplied with this download (and a copy is also included as the file: PolyNodeExtractor.eng.txt). This file can be renamed to PolyNodeExtractor.str if the original becomes corrupted or changed.
